Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen reported she wishes to begin talks on a totally free-trade pact with the U.S., aspect of a wide hard work to deepen her island democracy’s partnership with Washington and resist stress from Beijing.
In an on-line speech aired Wednesday, Ms. Tsai said beginning trade negotiations are amongst her next-term priorities in strengthening relations with the U.S., a big investing spouse and critical arms provider for Taiwan.
